Prairie Pastures is a unique dog park experience. Located on the site of an old zoo, it offers unusual structures and varied terrain providing hours of fun for you and your four legged friend.
With over 8 acres, the vegetation and structures offer both visual, and sound barriers giving the dogs the choice of finding playmates or exploring on their own.
The entire area is surrounded by 11 foot fencing, with areas set aside away from larger dogs strictly for small dogs, and another for the senior citizens, both human and four legged, or those that are looking for a slower pace for play.
Our pond is a popular place in the warmer months, and we even offer a "Splashy Waters" for the little ones, away from the pandemonium of the larger dogs.
Our park is completely handicap accessible for special needs handlers.
Prairie Pastures is a branch of the Soaring Eagle Nature Center, and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. No tax dollars support the center or the dog park, and all maintenance is done by volunteers
In conjunction with the Nature Center, our mission is to provide a safe, secure, vibrant, and well maintained off-leash park to exercise the mind and body of well behaved canine citizens whose handlers are willing to uphold the parks rules and regulations.
We promote education, recreational and training activities that facilitate responsible dog ownership.
We view the dog park as an extension of Soaring Eagle Nature Center and support the center's overall mission of offering educational, historical, cultural, and recreational experiences to the Gateway Area.
